Good Old Girls

As a Solar System Ambassador the most requested topic for programs is Mars, which is a good thing because that is one of my favorite topics and I enjoy the 20 or so Mars programs I do every year.

For five years, those Rovers have defied the odds and continued to do amazing things on the planet. They have also done amazing things here on Earth. Public interest hasn’t waned. It seems that everybody I talk to, knows Spirit and Opportunity by name, and at least some highlights of their mission.

Did they survive the dust storm?

How is Spirit’s wheel? Will it be able to keep going?

How much longer will they keep going?

People genuinely care about these little robots. So to commemorate their five years of exploration, and the International Year of Astronomy, I’ve put together this video, set to wonderful music of Marian Call.

The music is by Marian Call, whose voice and song writing talent are both “out of this world.” Without her support this video wouldn’t have been possible.
